Frustrated

I have never tried to lose weight before and I am not doing a good job!  I have literally lost 1 pound this challenge.  I really could use some advice.  I have been getting almost all of my points in the exercise category, water (5/7 days a week), sleep and I have not missed a day logging food/calories.  There have only been two days that I wasn't withing the calorie intake goal set by myfitnesspal to lose 1.5lbs/week.  Most of my protein intake is plant based and I have been trying to choose whole grain. I am super frustrated.  What am I doing wrong?!

  1. So a few thoughts...are you eating back the calories you exercise off? I know MyFitnessPal gives you more calories to eat each day as you add in your exercise, but I've never been able to do that and actually lose anything, so I just eat my calorie goal no matter how much I exercise.
Another thought is to pay attention to your inches...that's more important than the pounds. I've seen fitness bloggers post side by side photos of themselves at the same weight, but one is significantly smaller/more fit...their body changes even though the scale didn't.
And I've always heard it takes at least 4 weeks to notice anything in yourself, 8 weeks for others to notice.
It is super frustrating though when the scale doesn't move. I've had weeks really clean eating and exercise and then no loss. I feel like as women hormones play a big part too and weight fluctuates a lot!

  2. Thanks Steph! I do not eat back my exercise calories. I think it has my calorie goal at 1550. I appreciate your comment! I have never really tracked inches so I don't really know what to expect in that department. Any idea what you could expect as an inch loss every week?

    1. Oh man! 1550 is a tough calorie goal...you should definitely be seeing results!!!
So in these past challenges if someone lost 7-10% of there overall inches that was really high. 5% seemed to be average. I'm not sure how that breaks down week to week.
